Comment

For the sale, you get a flyer which has a selection of products that you can buy at reduced prices, around 10 items, a few of them rice cookers. From what I've checked, it is the best price available, although for some items you're only saving a few hundred yen. You could probably buy an older model of the product for a lower price, but if you do want a new product that they offer then this is the best way to do it, especially with the gift certificates.
